Together, we’re MAKING AN IMPACT

Since 2016, we've raised more than $18,000 for the Washington Trails Association. The WTA is committed to ensuring outdoor access for everyone, forever. Our goal this year is to reach $20,000 in combined impact.

The WTA is awesome, obviously. But there’s another awesome reason we get together each July—to celebrate Krishna Venkatesh’s birthday.

You may know Krishna well. Or you met him in passing at work. Or maybe you’ve never met him. But if you’re in the Seattle tech community, the greater Dallas area, or ever used a piece of software called Windows, Krishna probably touched your life. Whether it was a conversation, a smile in passing, or just telling you how much juice your laptop had left in 9 little pixels. He loved connecting people, exploring new places, and sharing the best recommendations.

Krishna disappeared in October 2014. For his birthday each year, we carry on the tradition of helping connect people with a community brunch, enabling people to explore new places with the WTA, and taking you to a cool restaurant that’s tucked down a side street behind a humble façade. It’s a very small way to keep sharing all that he shared with us.

Krishna loved parks and day hikes, and the Washington Trails Association helps make both great. They protect hiking trails and wildlands, maintain trails, and promote hiking as a healthy, fun way to explore the outdoors. It’s a great way to share Krishna’s love of the outdoors with even more people.
